I’m a senior budget manager for a pharmaceutical company but I’m also a client of Coach Dax. I met Dax through my 3P TRI Club. I used to just watch his training that he gives for free to the team – doing open water swim and fixing their swim strokes etc.
So when I finally had a chance to do a road trip from Chicago and stop by Las Vegas in 2020, I’ve asked him if he can actually see if there’s a way to improve my swim. Swimming is my favorite part of triathlon so when he saw me swim the first time on the day we first met – I think I was swimming maybe like 3:10-3:20 per 100 yards – by the time I left that pool I was already swimming like 2:40 in a span of 15 minutes. I also have asthma, and my doctor then told me that swimming is helping me a lot and maybe I should go into respiratory therapy to help me with my breathing, so I approached Dax again to see if this is something that he can help me with and he has. Since then I have completed an Ironman and a number of 70.3s and I have improved so much on the swim and have put a lot of confidence in me.
Now, he’s also my full-time triathlon coach where I’ve only not learned about how to swim, bike and run stronger but I’ve also learned more about myself, how to face the challenges that comes when I race and outside of the race and also how to manage more of my self-expectations etc.
WHEN I RACE IT’S JUST A BONUS IT’S MORE OF THE TRAINING THAT I GET TO MAKE ME STRONGER EVERY DAY and manage my breathing and my asthma better. Now I can tell you that I’ve not had any asthma attack; I’ve not been to an ER and I’ve already passed my spirometry test – I finally scored 100%! I would like to attribute that to all the wonderful things that Dax did to help me, so if you are looking for a coach—maybe just to complete your first triathlon or have somebody to help you with your health with diet, I highly recommend Dax. He is awesome; he customizes it based on your needs and whatever other things can help you to make yourself healthier and better.
