I am 53 years old and late bloomer in terms of sports. I said late bloomer because I’ve never been interested in sports until my late 40s. Anyway, I met coach Dax during swim clinic at 3P TRI team event last May of 2021. I am a member of the 3P TRI team and before I met him I did already several marathons, sprint and Olympic triathlons, and I did also one 70.3 Ironman in Arizona.
I was very frank to him. I told him that I have a long driving and working hour so I don’t have much time for training. He told me to just give him my available hours for training and he will start from there. He understood because he knows that we have life other than Ironman training. We started our training five months before the race and we started to build my Zone 2. He told me, we don’t need over training, we just need quality training.
Dax is very supportive of me; before my race I got sick for several days and I was not even sure if I could make it but he asked me to rest and reserve my energy for the actual race day. He said to just trust our training and for a short span of our training, he trusted me already that I can do it. He gave me my estimated time to finish and since my bike was my weakest point his advice was JUST DON’T COMPARE MYSELF TO OTHERS DON’T BE DISTRACTED BY THE PEOPLE PASSING ME AND JUST KEEP ON PEDALING NO MATTER WHAT. Keep on pedaling! And that’s what I did! And because of all the drills, his advice and his guidance for me, I became an Ironman! So I cannot honestly find a coach as good as him and I’m really very thankful to him for all the guidance and support that he gave to me. He’s a very kind, very approachable, respectful dude. If you’re looking for a guy, someone that can help you with your journey, I really recommend Coach Dax because I think he is the best that can help you guys. I highly recommend! Two thumbs up! Love you coach. Thank you so much.
